Blogger Brunch at Hatch 44 in Metuchen, New Jersey
Yesterday, I met with my New Jersey mom blogger friends Kim and Madina for brunch at Hatch 44 in Metuchen, New Jersey.
This was the first time that Kim (@ahomeonford) and I met. She’s a professional interior designer out of Bergen County, New Jersey.
Madina (@madinnson) and I first met during my blogger meet up on my farm. That day was hectic and there were so many women there that we didn’t really get a chance to talk to each other 1:1 so today was nice to be able to really sit and get to know each other.
Today also hit the world record of time that I’ve ever waited for a table: we ended up waiting an hour and 45 minutes for a table at Hatch 44. It was a long wait and we were starving by the time we got in but it also went by fast because we were chatting away and taking photos of each other.
I’m new to Jersey and was so worried about making friends but I really mean it when I say: Jersey girls are so nice. It’s funny because when I say that to girls in Jersey they give me a look, but I truly do feel like people are nicer here than in Boston. I spent nearly a decade in the Boston area and while I made friends, it was really hard to meet new people. I found the culture in Boston to be really cliquey.
It was so fun getting together somewhere new and trying a new restaurant. At Hatch 44 Cafe, I got the Fiesta Omelette with no meat, Kim got the Skirt Steak and Eggs, and Madina got the Avo Grilled Toast. We also shared the Que Churro and the Classic Savy. I absolutely LOVED the Que Churro belgian waffles, they tasted just like traditional churros. My Fiesta Omelette was okay, the potatoes were amazing but I would try something else next time. We also all got the Berry Mocha Latte and that was sooooooo good! Hatch 44 Cafe is BYOB, so you’re welcome to bring your own alcohol.
